WRITING BIO:
Writing has long been a major part of Melina’s life. Her zeal for academics, reading, and writing has opened many doors, including a term working for a publishing house. She was initially hired as Publishing Manager however, her talent for writing was quickly recognized, and she was offered a position as ‘ghost-writer.’ As a result, Melina ghost-wrote two autobiographies on behalf of high-performing corporate executive clients—one of which has been published (Until I Become by Darren Jacklin).
Her inspiration to write a book on wine arose in 2020, during the pandemic. Melina worked as a fine-dining server to support herself during college for several years leading up to 2020. At the onset of the pandemic, she lost both her writing and serving jobs.
Now with plenty of free time, she decided to compile the vast wine knowledge she had amassed over the years into a small-format, brief book. By the end of the year Melina had a complete manuscript titled Wine Defined. A few revisions later, she submitted the manuscript to the International Page Turner Awards and was selected as a 2022 Finalist.
Wine Defined is designed to help people unravel the mysteries of wine, to elevate the knowledge of the restaurant and hospitality industry workforce, and to help foster a deeper appreciation for wine. She has handpicked content for this book to bring the most
value and entertainment to readers.
Wine Defined is projected to be the first choice for anyone looking to learn more about wine because it saves readers time and is more approachable compared to all current full-length wine books.
Melina’s book has gained the interest of several literary agents. She is actively exploring—and is open to—all publishing options. In addition to acting, Melina
